Unity square, Savannah
This project was conceived by Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) & Team Unity Square and created for the 2020 Walt Disney Imagineering’s Imaginations Student Design Competition. This project is the sole property of Walt Disney Imagineering and all rights to use these ideas are exclusive to Walt Disney Imagineering. The competition is a way for students and recent graduates to showcase their talents and for Walt Disney Imagineering to identify new talent.
The challenge for this year's competition was to create an iconic installation on our campus or city that served as an inspiration, honoured the past, and was a vision of the future. It could be architectural, ornamental, static, active, whatever our team felt was the best way to represent our unique chosen location. It could be intimate or grandiose, but it should have always been appropriate for the location selected. In telling the very unique story of our chosen spot, it should've respected and integrated local traditions and geography.
Our icon was a place to gather and celebrate, as well as reflect and educate the community. A concept that will go down in history as symbolic of our campus or city.
Every participant was be required to tell his/her story as it pertained to this project and the role he/she played in it. Judging was based on both an individual and group basis.
Tell a family friendly story. “Story” is not a fairytale, it’s the intent and values behind the narrative.

Our team consisted of four members, including three of the most talented people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Brendan Favo, Arielle Spencer, Branden Tolley were such dynamic teammates, and I am honoured to have been part of this Semi-finalist team.
Now, let us present you Unity Square: The Story of US.
